Experience in Vascular surgery

I am a accredited Vascular and Endo-vascular surgeon who has been working as a consultant in the National Health Service (NHS) in the United Kingdom. I am fully accredited by the Post Graduate Medical Education and Training Board (PMETB) of the United Kingdom. I have been included in the specialist register of the General Medical Council (GMC) of the United Kingdom. I worked and trained in some of the most world renowned vascular surgical units in the United Kingdom and India.

As lead clinician in Vascular Surgery I set up the Endo-vascular aortic aneurysm repair service and lead the implementation of the United Kingdom National stroke strategy in Manor Hospital -Walsall United Kingdom.

Having been involved with EVAR (key hole Aortic Aneurysm Surgery) since its pioneering days in the 1990s I have gained vast experience in repairing complex aneurysms using a wide range of commercially available devices. Two aneurysm stent graft manufacturers in the United Kingdom have appointed me as a Proctor. I have performed in excess of 420 endo-vascular aneurysm repairs to date. I also perform elective and emergency open surgery for Abdominal Aortic Aneurysms

I perform stroke prevention surgery (carotid endarterectomies) under local anaesthesia with an extremely low neurological event rate. Most of my patients are discharged on the first post-operative day. I have performed in excess of 600 carotid endarterectomies to date.

I have a major interest in the treatment of peripheral vascular disease including the treatment of Claudication, Critical ischemia, gangrene, leg ulceration and complications of the diabetic foot. I am adept in the performance of limb revascularisation procedures including Aorto and Axillo-bifemoral bypass grafts, Infra-inguinal bypass grafts including Femero-popliteal and Femero-distal bypass grafts. I also perform surgery for the relief of upper limb and gut ischemia.

Varicose veins & venous ulcers is another area where I provide specialist services. I offer, compression therapy, surgery and Radio frequency ablation (key hole vein surgery) for the treatment of varicose veins and their complications. Radio frequency ablation is a new minimally invasive technique for the treatment of truncal varicosities and has proven to be clinically superior to laser therapy .

I also provide a general surgical service. I undertake Hernia repairs , removal of lumps and bumps, small bowel surgery and Gall Bladder Surgery (key hole gallbladder surgery). I also treat general surgical conditions like Hydrocoeles and excessive sweating in the armpit or palms. I use Botox injections to treat excessive sweating.

I also have an active interest in vascular surgical trauma , including injury to arteries veins and lymphatics in road traffic accidents, stab and high velocity injuries.
